| Welcome
to the Library Book Sales Project
librarybooksales.org (and .com) has become one of the hottest spots on
the web. New libraries are joining every day, and books are being uploaded
as we speak.
The project is open to any library. Public, private, institutional, special
collections, educational, foreign or domestic. The goal is for libraries
to generate much needed funds to continue serving the "better good".
The project is not open to commercial book sellers.
These libraries can now sell their better books on the web. These may
be books that have been donated to the library, duplicate copies, monographs
or surplus materials. We try to discourage the sale of ex-libris books,
since most serious book buyers don't want to own books that look like
they were permanently borrowed from their local library. The project is
a "win-win". Libraries raise much-needed funds and book buyers
get great books at great prices.
Once member libraries are logged in, they have access to many features,
including tips on how to evaluate, price and sell out-of-print and rare
books. There is a chat room, an events calendar, newsletter, book definitions
and much more. There is a video library with real media video clips, showing
different facets of our training sessions. Most importantly, there are
very easy-to-use data processing screens. Books can be uploaded with a
minimum of typing (by means of drop-down menus). It doesn't get any easier.
It is actually fun to enter books for sale. If you are a library or Friends
group, please take a couple of moments to sign up. We think you will be
impressed.
Buyers will find a state-of-the-art shopping cart for their purchases
(since most libraries are not set up for credit cards, only checks, cash
or money orders are accepted at this time). New books are being added
daily.
These days, most libraries are operating on shrinking budgets and with
limited means. You can help! By purchasing books directly from a library,
using this site, you may be assured that the funds will be used to promote
literacy, purchase much needed supplies, equipment and books. Everyone
wins!
Thank you for using LibraryBookSales.org
